Children & Teens

Space to grow.
Room to be yourself.

Growing up brings a lot to navigate. Therapy can offer a place to feel heard, understand big feelings, and build confidence in being yourself.

Let’s connect

For children

Connection Comes First

Before anything else, I want kids to feel comfortable, known, and safe being themselves.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: there are no bad kids.

Kids are doing the best they can within nervous systems, relationships, and environments that do not always meet their needs. I work especially well with kids who do not always fit neatly into the boxes the world creates for them: kids with ADHD, big feelings, social struggles, anxiety, demand-avoidant or PDA-like patterns, LGBTQ+ kids, and kids who often hear that they are “too much,” “too sensitive,” “too intense,” or simply doing things the wrong way.

My background in education and child development helps me look beyond behavior and get curious about what is happening underneath it. My work is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), which means we might get to know the worried part, the angry part, the perfectionistic part, the part that shuts down, or the part that absolutely does not want to do the thing everyone else seems to expect.

And because kids communicate through more than words, we play. We draw. We make things. We laugh. Sometimes the most important conversations happen in the middle of a game.

You Don’t Have to Perform Here

You do not have to come into therapy knowing what to talk about.

You do not have to make eye contact, sit perfectly still, answer every question, or tell me your deepest feelings because an adult thinks you should.

You can talk. You can play a game. You can draw. You can tell me about your favorite show, the drama happening at school, the thing everyone else thinks is weird that you absolutely love, or nothing particularly important at all.

We can get curious together about the parts of you that worry, get angry, shut down, overthink, feel left out, need things to be fair, or feel like no one quite understands.

Therapy is not about turning you into a different version of yourself. It is about helping you understand yourself better, feel less alone in what you are experiencing, and find ways to move through the world that actually work for you.

Working together

Support That Includes Your Family

Kids do not exist in isolation, and therapy with children often works best when parents and caregivers are part of the process too.

I help families look underneath challenging moments and ask a different question: not simply, “How do we stop this behavior?” but, “What is this child communicating, and what might they need?”

That does not mean removing boundaries or letting kids run the show. It means finding ways to hold limits while also understanding your child’s nervous system, temperament, developmental stage, and unique way of experiencing the world.

My goal is to help parents feel more confident and connected to their child while helping kids feel understood, supported, and accepted for who they are.
