Couples
More understanding.
More room for each other.
Whether you’re feeling distant, caught in familiar disagreements, or preparing for marriage, therapy can offer time to understand one another more fully.

Discovering Yourself in Relationship
There is something uniquely powerful about discovering who we are in relationship with another person.
Our closest relationships have a way of bringing our deepest needs, fears, hopes, and protective parts right to the surface. We may find ourselves reaching, withdrawing, defending, pursuing, shutting down, or longing to be understood in ways we do not always recognize in ourselves.
I think of relationships as a dance. Each person moves in response to the other, often without realizing how the pattern began or how quickly it takes over.
Couples therapy creates an opportunity to slow that dance down. To become curious about yourself in relationship. To understand not only what your partner is doing, but what is happening inside of you when the two of you lose each other.
There is give and take in loving another person. There is risk. There is vulnerability. And there is tremendous opportunity to know ourselves more deeply through the experience of loving and being loved.
My approach
Slowing Down Enough to Be Seen
My work with couples is deeply informed by attachment and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I’m enrolled in Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO) training beginning in February 2027.
We become curious about the cycle the relationship gets caught in and the parts of each person that show up within it. As we understand the pattern between you, we can practice ways to express what you need, listen to each other, and return to difficult conversations with more care.
Underneath anger there may be fear. Underneath criticism, a longing to matter. Underneath withdrawal, a part working very hard to protect against hurt.
One of the joys of couples work for me is helping partners create enough safety to take some of that armor off.
Therapy offers the rare opportunity to slow down and let yourself be seen by one of the most important people in your life—and to learn how to truly see them, too. As vulnerability grows, there is often more room for tenderness, understanding, and connection.
I am also a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and offer premarital counseling for couples who want to be intentional about their relationship before marriage. This work can create space to explore communication, expectations, values, family patterns, conflict, intimacy, finances, and the kind of partnership you want to build together.
Our work together
When You’re Wondering What Comes Next

Not every couple arrives in therapy feeling connected or even certain they want to stay together.
Sometimes you have been having the same argument for years. Sometimes you feel more like roommates than partners. Sometimes hurt has accumulated and you are not sure how to find each other again. And sometimes one or both of you are genuinely wondering what comes next.
There is room for that here, too.
Couples therapy does not require you to already know the answer. It can be a place to slow down, understand what has happened between you, speak more honestly about what you need, and listen differently to the person beside you.
Whether the work is about finding your way back toward one another or gaining clarity about the future, there is value in understanding the relationship—and yourself within it—with greater compassion and honesty.
